Love N Haight is a great little neighborhood gem. It's a small family-run vegan deli with sandwiches under $7. They have more mock meat options than you could even imagine... I want to come back to try more. So far we have tried snow fish and chicken steak and they were both great. The veggies they include on the sandwhich are fresh and if you are vegetarian like me you can add on cheese too.

While it may be tempting to get the dutch crunch, I find it to be too much bread to filling ratio. I'll probably opt for sourdough or rye next time I'm here.

Finally PRO TIP, you can buy mock meat to go in their fridge in the back as well as lots of other great vegan snacks!

Gave up meat 7 months ago and haven't been able to have a salami sandwich until tonight-  SO happy I found this place, what a gem.

The owner is such a sweet lady and made us DELICIOUS vegan salami sandwiches. All the ingredients were fresh and vegan, including the mayo.

I can't wait to come back to try the "roast duck" sandwich and other selections on their extensive list of all vegan sandwiches.

Huge bonus that they're open until super late, until 2am!

So glad these guys are still around! Their vegan smoked duck sandwich on sourdough is the best ever.
You can also get the frozen fake meats in the freezer at the back... Please support this lovely family to keep the vegan sandwiches coming!

Warm shop. Nice lady. I will say that if you like the subway type of experience you do not get that here. For me thats unfortunate because I ended up having a sandwich without multiple toppings I would had preferred bt did not notice they had those topping til after receiving the order. They were not in the menu and she was not inviting of me to her preparation of the food area so I just accepted what was handed to me.  The Laos lady had a warm goodbye but a cold hello lol so there is a lot of pros and cons with this place. There food is fresh and tasty but they put TO ME not enough in the middle of the sandwich. More bread then anything which I do not prefer. In the city though the deal is actually pretty good. 15$ for the two sandwiches I though I should be thankful for.

I never once buy a normal sandwich until now.  I thought I would go back to buying the one with two slices of square bread.  One bite and I would have an already bitten piece of bread stuck inside my upper part of my teeth.  Those are back in the childhood days when I had a sandwich in a cute tin lunch box.

When I choose to go to Love N Haight Deli, I'm planning on buying just an ordinary sandwich in an ordinary deli shop; and again, I truly go for vegan.  But as I look around its atmosphere, it almost took my breath away.  Aside from pretty good vegetarian/vegan selections on the menu, there's a mural on the top right hand side of the wall, worked its way to its ceiling, and onto the left hand side.  Is our city of SF truly the city of Atlantis?  I can barely tell if it's true.

My sandwich for the day: Snow Fish with rye slices and vegan mayo.  I really love how a slice of soy protein was made to make it taste like fish meat.  Another feature to discuss after choosing a vegan mayo are a slice of pickles.  I used to remove a pickle right before I wolfed down a cheeseburger at McDonald's when I was a little boy.  This time, I'm getting used to the sourness of the pickles.

The overall of the vegan deli is splendid!  Friendly customer service, no lines, and the food serve like hot cakes.  Love how the Laotian couple run their service.  It's also good for me when it comes to cash.  If you plan on going for the Middle Eastern dish, Love N Haight has it.
